Following a very interesting research discussion, we may be getting closer to coming up with a succinct statement of the scope and focus of the centre’s activities.  As a prelude to a statement in words, here is a diagram for discussion.  Please add comments, or give feedback on whether you think this is an accurate statement covering what we do.

As I have started to prepare some UML for the MSc … I was thinking that instead of your diagram which I understand because I was at he meeting this morning would benefit a lot from a formalism such as UML. Lots of semantic interpretations can be made from your diagram. May be we could think of some class diagram, activity diagram etc … which will illustrated or interpret this and other possible combinations?
Nonetheless the paradigm Data “gives” Info “gives” Knowledge is certainly nice to express some aspects of geospatial intelligence!
